Life Size DK Droid Kit! This kit is Awesome! This is the biggest print I’ve ever done, and could be a fantastic parent/child project, or a project for the super Star Wars fan!

Scale : 6 Feet Tall! Life size!

Important!
——
-Raw Pla print.

- I didn’t put a picture of all the parts, there’s just too many of them.

- The DK Droid takes about 35-37kgs of filament and stands over 6ft tall (1900mm) with a 4ft 2inch (1300mm) sided triangular footprint.

It can be free standing, without a support pole under the main body.
To achieve that goal the Leg, and Spine parts are designed to slide over many 3/4 inch Round, and 30 x 15mm Oval metal Poles or Tubes.
As long as you use these Tubes/Poles it will def stand unaided just like the pics.

He is an articulated Droid but some articulations are limited or are advised locked off or limited.
The Legs do not have moveable joints at the Ankle Knee and Hip but is fixed with slight angles to give the illusion of a pose-able stance.

There is space in the in the Head and BoomSticks to add lights.

-Will need post processing work if desired. You can use filler and sanding, if you want, but I’ve seen a lot of these done with just painting, and they look great. Because it’s a robot.

Cost includes purchase of the original file STL from Droid Division. Check out their awesome files!"

—————————

Made from PLA Filament, plastic made from corn-starch or sugar cane. It is 100% biodegradable, and non-toxic. 3D printed products made with PLA are durable, strong, and make useful items that hold up to real life.

I’ve tried to remove all the printing supports, but it’s possible I missed one.

This is not a completed model. It’s a model kit and comes in pieces.

There are instructions, Just be careful you don’t glue it together in the wrong order and find you’re unable to fit the last piece in. Plan it out ahead of time.

PLA models are not the same as resin models. PLA can look just as well on the finished product though. But to achieve the best results requires sanding, crack filling, and a great paint job.

Modelling:

The perfectionist: they will clip, file, and sand every piece. Then glue each piece together filling any gaps with gap fill. Then prime and paint and varnish.

The semi perfectionist: they will file and sand most pieces. Then glue and fill the large gaps. Then prime and paint and varnish.

The painter: they will glue the model together, and fill the large gaps. Then prime and paint and varnish.
